We fist stopped off at a local bar for some predrinks, this is something I would recommend because just as with clubs back home drinks are dam expensive. After having a few beers and shots we decided the time was right to hit the clubs, after a 10 min taxi drive we arrived at BB Club and I was blown away by just how cool the club looked.
When entering BB club (and all the other clubs I have been to thus far) I was shocked to realize that foreigners simply do not get searched and we do not have to pay for entree. The Chinese people entering were frisked and also pointed to a counter where they had to pay.
The first thing I realized when I actually got into the club was that no one was dancing. Instead people were sitting/standing around tables and drinking. The music was good and the atmosphere was amazing so I just could not understand why no one was dancing.
After walking around for a bit (checking out the scene so to speak) I was called over to a table, and offered drinks and obviously did not say no. The problem was that once i joined the table they simply did not want me to leave and I spent some time being forced drinks before my friend thankfully saved me from being forcefully intoxicated..
After several visits to night clubs it became apparent that the Chinese love buying foreigners drinks. I am still not quite sure why this is the case (not that I am complaining) but I think it has something to to do with image (i.e. look at us we have a foreigner at our table!)
One thing I can say though is that the Chinese club scene (even though very different to what I am use to) is amazing and that the Chinese know how to party! I will definitely be visiting clubs on a regular basis but nothing compares to the club scene back home!
